Bird lovers, including some workers of social organizations, rescued 9 small parrots locked in cages in a street of Bibi Wala Road here. 7 of these birds were confined in a small cage and were suffering very badly.
According to the information, the person who imprisoned the parrots was in the business of selling parrots continuously for the last 5-6 years. After finding out, the bird lovers brought this matter to the attention of the officials of the forest department, and they took action and freed the parrots from the imprisonment of the bird trader.
Before the cages were opened by the workers of the organizations, people were made aware by keeping the birds at the selfie point on Mall Road. He said that imprisoning birds flying in the open sky in cages and trading them comes under the category of crime. Those people were appealed not to keep any kind of birds in cages and to release them immediately.
