Late last night, a woman named Sunita’s child died in Chika’s private Sarthak hospital, and after some time, the mother Sunita also died. Sunita’s family members have filed a police complaint against the doctor accusing the hospital administrator of negligence. There is also news of the angry family members vandalizing the hospital.
Sunita’s father Sukha Ram and brother Jeet Ram have filed a complaint in this Chika police station. On their complaint, the police have registered a case under section 106 of the BNS against the hospital’s doctor Anu Singh and his assistant Satya Devi. After the incident, the accused have left the hospital and fled, for whom the police have started a search.
The family members said that they had brought Sunita to Sarthak Hospital for delivery on Saturday at around 11 am. Meanwhile, the child died before birth due to the pressure exerted by the doctor and staff for about 3-4 hours. Even at that time the doctor did not understand the seriousness of the matter and kept on assuring the child’s recovery for the next 24 hours. After this, when the woman started bleeding profusely, the doctor referred her to a hospital known to him.
Meanwhile, the woman bled so much that she died before being taken to a private hospital in Patiala. The family members said that when they reached the hospital with the body of the deceased and accused the doctor of negligence, the doctor ran away from there along with the staff. The angry family members also ransacked the hospital. Today, when the hospital was visited to talk to the doctors, the windows of the hospital were broken and no one was present in the hospital.
Sub-inspector Suresh Kumar, in charge of police station Chika, said that an FIR has been registered. The bodies of Sunita and her child have been handed over to the heirs after the post-mortem.
