Arvind Srinivas, born and brought up in Chennai, has become the country’s youngest billionaire. 31-year-old Srinivas has recently been included in the M3M Hurun India Rich List 2025 with a net worth of Rs 21,109 crore. Studied from IIT Madras
Srinivas studied electrical engineering from IIT Madras. After this he went to California University to do PhD in Computer Science. After completing his studies, he has worked with many big companies like OpenAI and Google Deepmind. After working in these companies for some time, in 2022 he started Perplexity AI along with Denis Yarats, Johnny Ho and Andy Konwinski. It is an AI powered search engine, which answers questions in conversational style. Recently this company has also launched Comet Browser. Perplexity AI has also received acquisition offers from Apple and Meta, but Srinivas does not want to sell it. They are planning to bring IPO of this company in 2028.
Google has offered to buy Chrome
Srinivas had earlier come into limelight when he had offered to buy Google Chrome for $34.5 billion. This value was double the total valuation of his company. This offer was also discussed a lot because Chrome is an important product of Google and its user base is more than 3 billion.
