In a conversation with Hindustan Times, Hema Malini revealed that Ramesh Sippy celebrated him to accept the role in such a way that if he did not do this film, he would have to regret it. The actress said, ‘When this film was first offered to me, I was not very excited. I even asked him, are you really giving me the role of a Tangwali? Such a small roll? See, I worked with him in the first style and films like Sita and Geeta, which had a double role.
