Himachal: First snowfall of the season in Shimla

Shimla and adjoining tourist spots of Kufri and Phagu etc received the first snowfall of the season today while intermittent snowfall in the upper reaches of the tribal Lahaul and Spiti districts of Himachal Pradesh has increased the chill in the adjoining valleys. A light layer of snow has spread in Lahaul, due to which traffic is disrupted as the roads become slippery, making it difficult to come and go. According to the Meteorological Department, snowfall has also occurred in high mountain passes and other upper tribal areas. After the snowfall, the temperature has also dropped in the state. Today, Tabo recorded minus 13.1 degrees Celsius, Kukkumseri minus 6.9 degrees, Kalpa minus 3.3 degrees, Rakong PO minus 1 degree while Narkanda recorded minus 0.8 degrees. The weather center has issued an ‘alert’ for more snowfall and rain at different places in the state on Tuesday as well, while thick fog till Wednesday. -News-Patiala

Rain in many areas of Delhi; Chance of fog today

New Delhi: It rained in many areas of Delhi-NCR this evening and the Meteorological Department has predicted more rain and dense fog in different parts of the city on Monday morning. Today it rained in some areas of West Delhi, Outer North Delhi and Gurugram. The Indian Meteorological Department said in its latest forecast that rain is likely to occur at various places in Delhi’s Rajouri Garden, Patel Nagar, Buddha Jayanti Park, Rashtrapati Bhavan, Nazafgarh, Delhi Cantonment and the National Capital Region (NCR). According to the department, rain may occur in Delhi-NCR due to the influence of western disturbance. According to the Meteorological Department, the second lowest temperature of 23.7 degrees was recorded in Delhi today. Earlier in this season, the lowest temperature of 23.5 degrees was recorded on November 18. -News-Patiala
