UP School Holiday List 2025: The Uttar Pradesh Secondary Education Department has released the 2025 holiday calendar even before the start of the new year. In the year 2025, there is 1 day extra holiday as compared to 2024. UP School Holidays List 2025 also includes Sundays and festival holidays (School Holidays in UP). There is a difference between one day off for teachers teaching in primary education schools and secondary education schools.
According to the holiday calendar for the year 2025, the UP Education Department has declared Buddha Purnima holiday on May 12, 2025 in secondary schools. In the year 2025, a total of 30 holidays will be given for festivals and other special occasions (UP School Holidays Calendar 2025). Along with this, schools will remain closed for a total of 119 days, including Sundays and summer vacations.
Last year, government schools in Uttar Pradesh had 118 days of holidays. Accordingly, this time there is an additional holiday of 1 day.

In the year 2025, 12 days have been reserved for board exams and the total working days will be 234. Like last year, the holiday calendar of UP School Education Department has also given Karva Chauth holiday for married women teachers. Also for Haritalika Teej, Haryali Teej, Sankata Chaturthi, Halashthi, Lalai Chhath, Jyotia Vrat women teachers of a particular field will get any 2 days leave based on their leave application.

Director of Secondary Education Dr. Mahendra Dev has informed that in special circumstances, school principals will be able to declare discretionary leave (meaning discretionary leave) of 3 days. Programs will be organized in schools on national festivals. Condolences will be held only on death of teachers, staff and students working in the school.
Instructions have also been given to conduct seminars and events for at least one hour in schools on the birthdays of great men, revolutionaries of the freedom movement and social reformers. Students should be inspired by telling inspiring stories of personality, work and life of special and famous people. However, if there is any other reason or if there is a Sunday holiday, such events can be held after 1 day.
