Nowadays it has become common in smartwatch to get heart rate tracking feature. Along with smartwatch as well as smart ring and now this feature has started coming in Airports. It is believed that heart health can be easily detected by heart rate. The heart rate is normal means that your heart is pumping blood properly and oxygen is reaching all organs. But have you ever wondered how these devices detect heart rate? If not, then let’s know the answer to this question today.
How does this technology work?
You must have noticed that there is a constant green light flash behind the smartwatch. There is an optical sensor with light. Green light detects your heart rate from the wrist. Actually, red and green on the color wheel are absolutely opposite of each other. Therefore, the blood greens the green light quickly. The work of detecting the light that is reflected from the blood is of the optical sensor.
This is how heart rate addresses
The light rate is called photoplethystitis (PSP) through the light. After every beating, the heart muscle shrinks. This increases the amount of blood running in the veins. When the muscle relaxes, the amount of blood decreases. When the veins swell due to increasing the amount of blood, they absorb more green light and when they are relaxed, then the amount of light that is absorbed is less. On the basis of abjarbing by veins, the software detects the plus rate and you see a heart rate measurement on the smartwatch.
Possible disease also goes on
Nowadays many companies are using advanced algorithm in new devices and software, which can guess a possible disease on the basis of pulse rate. However, their accuracy has still not reached the level of perfection and people are advised to conduct health checkup regularly.
