How long does SIM remain without recharge? Jio, Airtel and VI required information for users

Jio vs Airtel vs VI: Recharge plans have become expensive since the tariff increased in July last year. However, after TRAI intervention, telecom companies have introduced only voice call plans, but they are also proving expensive for those who use secondary SIMs. Often people keep second SIMs only for banking services or as per the facility of network coverage. For this reason, companies allow customers to receive incoming calls and messages for some time without recharge.

When is Sim Deactive?

If you do not use your SIM continuously for 90 days, that is, there is no call, SMS or data use, then your number is deactivated. This rule applies to all big companies – Jio, Airtel and VI.

How does validity increase from balance?

If you have more than 20 rupees balance left in your account even after completing 90 days, then telecom companies automatically deduct Rs 20 and increase your non-use period by 30 days. This process lasts until the balance of your account is reduced by Rs 20. When the balance is over, your number will be deactivated.

How to activate deactivate number?

If your SIM is deactivated, then you get 15 days to start it again. During this period, the number can be re-activated by paying a fee of Rs 20. If you do not do this, then your number will be closed permanently and will not be used again.

That is, Jio, Airtel and VI users can take advantage of incoming calls and messages for about 90 days without recharge. But during this time no outgoing calls, data or SMS can be used. If you want to keep your secondary SIM operational for a long time, then it is necessary to use it from time to time or maintain minimum balance.
