There is big news for WhatsApp users. Soon the way to change profile photo (DP) is going to change completely. WhatsApp is preparing to bring a new feature, so that users will be able to import their profile photos directly from Instagram or Facebook.
According to WABetaInfo report, this new feature has been seen in Whatsapp Beta for Android version 2.25.21.23 and some beta users have started getting updates. In the coming weeks, it will be rolled out for more users.
How was DP till now?
Till now, users had to choose a photo from the gallery, to click with the camera, had to have an avatar or use AI generated image to put DP on WhatsApp. If someone had to put a photo of his Facebook or Instagram, first one had to take a screenshot or download the photo – which also spoiled the quality of the photo.
What is the new sink feature?
Now the new “sink feature” of WhatsApp will eliminate this problem. When the users go to Edit option to change their profile photos on WhatsApp, there will be a new option to import photos from Instagram and Facebook. In just one click, the same photo will be directly on Whatsapp.
How to get this feature?
To take advantage of this facility, users have to link their WhatsApp account to Meta’s Accounts Center. META had given the facility to add WhatsApp to the account center earlier this year.
Meta integration is increasing
Meta has already brought many integration features between Facebook and Instagram. Now the status of Instagram can be shared directly on WhatsApp and business accounts can also add WhatsApp button to their Insta profile, so that customers can chat directly.
