A husband and wife riding an Activa died after being hit by a tipper coming at a high speed in the wrong direction near village Bhankharpur on Chandigarh Ambala National Highway. The police have taken possession of the bodies and started investigating the case. The deceased has been identified as Dhoom Singh (53) and his wife as Kaushal Devi (48). Police officer ASI Jaspal Singh said that last night around eight o’clock, husband and wife Molly Jagran were coming from Chandigarh to Derabassi on Activa. Meanwhile, when they reached near the Reliance petrol pump located near village Bhankharpur, a tipper coming from the wrong side hit their Activa. In the accident, both husband and wife died on the spot. The accident was so terrible that the tire of the tipper passed over the heads of both the husband and wife who died on the spot. After the accident, the accused fled away leaving the tipper on the spot. The police took possession of the tipper and registered a case against the driver and started searching for him.
One killed, one injured in separate accidents
Basi Pathans (Ajay Malhotra): A 60-year-old man was killed and a youth was injured in two separate accidents near village Adampur on the Sirhind-Patiala road and near Jyoti Sarup Morr of Fatehgarh Sahib. According to information, Harbhajan Singh, a resident of Ranjit Nagar, Patiala, was riding his scooter to offer obeisance at Gurudwara Sri Fatehgarh Sahib, when the driver of a speeding car hit his scooter near village Adampur on the Patiala-Sirhind road. , due to which Harbhajan Singh was seriously injured. He was taken to PGI Chandigarh for treatment, where Harbhajan Singh died during treatment. Sirhind police have registered a case and are investigating the matter. In another accident that occurred near Jyoti Sarup Morr of Fatehgarh Sahib, Mandeep Singh (32), a resident of Khanpur, was riding a motorcycle to his village when a car driver negligently drove the motorcycle near Jyoti Sarup Morr of Fatehgarh Sahib. Mandeep Singh was seriously injured in the accident. Mandeep Singh has been admitted to PGI Chandigarh for treatment. The Fatehgarh Sahib police station has registered a case against the alleged car driver Deepinder Singh, a resident of Mohali.
