‘I will not work even if I am given 100 Cr’, 100% relationship between Ismail Darbar-Sanjay Leela Bhansali is over, this is the reason for bitterness

New Delhi. Ismail Darbar, who has decorated many songs like Chand Chhipa Badal Mein…, Dola Re Dola, Tadap-Tadap Ke Iss Dil Se…, Woh Kisna Hai…, Beri Piya, Dhol Baje… with his wonderful music, is one of the famous composers of Hindi cinema. Along with the story of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s films ‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’ and ‘Devdas’, people also liked its music. Which people still hum even after years. But, these two rare diamonds of Bollywood who once worked together no longer work together. Ismail Darbar has recently spoken openly about his old partnership with filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Not only this, while explaining the reason for the differences, he clearly said that now there is no question of working with Bhansali, even if he offers Rs 100 crore.

When relationships built over years are suddenly broken, the pain is deep. The relationship between Ismail Darbar and Sanjay Leela Bhansali was also similar. Recently, in a conversation with Vicky Lalwani, he shared his experiences with Bhansali.

never mixed yes i yes

He told that when they first started working on ‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’, the relationship between them was not only professional but also very stubborn. He said- ‘I never used to blindly say yes to anything. If he felt something was wrong, he would say it right there. Ismail says- ‘I was always clear about what I liked and what music should be like’. He told that he worked hard with all his heart in both the films ‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’ and ‘Devdas’, but whenever he was praised, Bhansali was irritated by this. Darbar said, ‘Bhansali was afraid that the hard work was mine, but he was taking the credit.’

A news set fire to relationships during Hiramandi

After many years, both of them joined hands again for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ambitious web series ‘Hiramandi: The Diamond Bazaar’. Darbar worked on this project for about one and a half years and put his whole heart into it. But things turned sour when a media report described his role as the ‘backbone of Hiramandi’. The report said that despite the show having many stars, Ismail Darbar’s music will be its strongest part. Bhansali felt that this news was planted by Darbar himself, which caused a rift between the two.

Sanjay Leela Bhansalvi had attended the wedding of Ismail Darbar’s son Zaid and Gauhar.

When the filmmaker called home and said- ‘Okay, let me go’

Ismail Darbar recalled the conversation that took place with Sanjay after this news. ‘I said, ‘Look, if I had to break the news, I would not have been afraid of you, I would have said straight away that yes, I did…’ I still don’t know who that man was, but he broke the news and Sanjay came to know. He called me to the office and asked, ‘Ismail, how can you say that?’ After that he said, ‘Okay, let it go.’ After that I understood that ‘let go’ meant that sooner or later he would put me in a situation where I would have to leave ‘Hiramandi’ myself. I left before that.

‘Somewhere there was fear in his mind…’

When asked why Sanjay Leela Bhansali did not try to call him back? So the court said, ‘Why would you do it?’ He had understood – When the backbone is Ismail Darbar… I was the backbone in ‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’… also in ‘Devdas’. I am not saying it myself, his PR had said, I had seen his ego when he was on the front page. I was scared that I work so hard and they take the credit.

‘I will not work even if given 100 Cr’

Ismail Darbar said that he watched ‘Hiramandi’ but did not like it. ‘It is not because my music was not there. I will say one thing: If I had done the music of ‘Hiramandi’, I would have made it immortal. Sanjay would not have been able to even reach the level of what I had prepared – I know this. He also told that he was supposed to work with Bhansali in ‘Guzaarish’, but things got worse in ‘Devdas’ due to the fights during ‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’. Darbar claims that Sanjay instructed the PR teams not to interview Ismail. As of today there is 100% breakup between the two. Ismail said in clear words – ‘Today if Sanjay comes and says, ‘Please do the music of my film, I will give 100 crores,’ then I will say, ‘Go away from here at your first leisure.’
