The International Cricket Council (ICC) has released the rating of four of the five Tests of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy played between India and England. The first Test pitch played in Handingley (Leeds) received the ‘very good’ rating, while the remaining pitches were given the ‘satisfactory’ rating.

The series was a 2–2 draw, in which all the matches lasted till the fifth day and there was an exciting match between the bat and the bat. The batsmen dominated the early days, but later the bowlers made a brilliant comeback. India won the final Test by six runs and destroyed the hopes of England’s series win.

Pitch By 2023 ICC rated the pitches in six categories: very good, good, average, bilos average, vene and unfit. But now it has been simplified in four categories: very good, satisfactory, unsatncy and unfit.

The pitches of this series performed better than the 2023 Ashes series, where no pitch was ‘very good’ and the pitches of Edgbaston and Lords only got ‘average’ ratings. At the same time, four out of five pitches of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy were rated ‘very good’.

Know what happened in five matches First Test: Headingley, Leeds

The first match of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy was played in Handingley, Leeds. This pitch received a ‘very good’ rating from ICC. Hadingley’s pitch was slow and suited to bat, which benefited England’s aggressive ‘Bajball’ style. England won the final innings by achieving a target of 373 runs. In the history of Test cricket, India became the first team whose players scored 5 centuries. Despite this, the team faced defeat.

Second Test: Birming

The second Test was played in Birmingham. Here India created history in Birmingham led by captain Shubman Gill. India scored 587 in the first innings and 427 runs in the second, and won by 336 runs. It was the biggest win by a margin of run out of India’s home ground. This was the first time an Asian team won the Test on this ground. Akashdeep took 10 wickets for 187 runs in the match. This was the best bowling record of an Indian bowler in Birmingham.

Third Test: Lords

It was amazing to not find the ‘very good’ rating of Lord’s pitch. There was a great balance between the bat and the ball on this pitch. India chased 195 runs and missed only 22 runs, making the match exciting.

Fourth Test: Manchester

This was a Test draw, as India batted for about two days. This pitch also did not get a ‘very good’ rating.

Fifth Test: The Oval,

The rating of the final Test pitch played at London The Oval has not been released yet. The match was very exciting. England was in a strong position at 301/3 chasing a target of 374 runs, including Joe Root and Harry Brook’s centuries. But the rain stopped the game of the fourth day. On the last day England needed 35 runs and four wickets left, but the brilliant bowling of the famous Krishna and Mohammad Siraj gave India a historic victory by six runs. This was the lowest difference win in India’s Test cricket in terms of runs.
