Discom MD KP Verma said consumers applying for domestic solar connection with loads up to 10 KW will now have to pay the demand notice amount through their monthly electricity bill after the solar power plant is commissioned. This facility will be available only for domestic consumers taking solar connection up to 10 KW load. Application process will be simplified According to Verma, the scheme aims to facilitate the application process for consumers and encourage their interest in solar energy.
He said, ‘According to the instructions issued by the DISCOM, the fee will be charged only after the commissioning of the solar plant. With which domestic consumers will benefit. Under this new facility, household consumers will be able to get solar connection easily without any complicated process. Experts believe that this initiative will play an important role in promoting renewable sources of energy.
Engagement with government schemes will increase. The government is already providing subsidies and other incentives for solar connections under the Pradhan Mantri Suraj Ghar Yojana.
