Deputy Director of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department, Dr. Jaswinder Singh has told News 18 that Haryana Agriculture Management Extension Training Institute (HMETI) will provide Diploma in Agricultural Extension Services for Input Dealers (BESSI) to 10th pass youth.
After completing 48 weeks of training you will receive a diploma. There will be a class in this regard once a week. Based on this diploma, you will be able to get a license to sell seeds, fertilizers and medicines in any state in India. He said that only after doing the diploma, he will give the license. Diploma fee 20 thousand rupees will have to be paid. He said that so far the diploma was given only to those people who are already doing the said business and who have a license.
He said that earlier diploma was not required for licenses of dealers of fertilizers, seeds and medicines, but now the Government of India has made diplomas mandatory for dealers of fertilizers, seeds and medicines. Now license will not be issued without diploma. For this it is mandatory to have ‘Agriculture Extension Service for Input Dealer’ Diploma. After this new and old licenses can be renewed.
Dealers will get better information about fertilizers and seeds
He said that after taking this course, the dealers will get better information about fertilizers, seeds and pesticides, with which they will be able to give accurate and correct information to the farmers. Along with this, the problem of artificial fertilizers and seeds in the market will also be controlled to a large extent. He also said that farmers often buy seeds and pesticides for their farms from shops. In such a case, it is very important for dealers to have basic knowledge in this subject.
