NEET UG 2025 Exam: There is an important news for the candidates preparing for NEET UG exam. The National Testing Agency (NTA) has made significant changes in the examination pattern for National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET UG) 2025. The exam will no longer have optional questions and the format of the exam will return to the same format as it was pre-Covid, minus the extra time and changes implemented during the Covid pandemic.
No optional questions from 2025 onwards
During the covid pandemic, optional questions were arranged for the convenience of students. The system remained in place until 2024, but has been phased out from 2025. Now total 180 questions will be compulsory in the exam. There will be 45 questions each in Physics and Chemistry and 90 questions in Biology. Candidates will be given 180 minutes to solve these 180 questions.
180 minutes will be given for the exam
All candidates of NEET (UG)-2025 are hereby informed that the format of the examination is now being brought back to the pre-Covid-19 pandemic format, the notice issued by the NTA said. There will be no optional section and all questions will be compulsory. The time allotted for the examination will be 180 minutes.
APAAR ID not required
NTA has also clarified that the registration process for NEET UG 2025 has been simplified. Now APAAR ID is not necessary for candidates. More options for registration will be available, the details of which will be shared in the information bulletin soon.
Exam mode and schedule
This year NEET UG exam will be conducted in pen and paper mode in one shift. However, the information related to the exam date and the start of the application process is yet to be released. For more information, candidates can check the information bulletin on the official website of NTA.
