The Green Bank Telescope (GBT) detects very weak radio waves from space, which is essential for studying stars, galaxies and cosmic events. Signals from Wi-Fi, mobile phones and other electronic devices can disrupt its sensitive function. To protect its work, NRQZ has banned cell towers, Wi-Fi networks, microwaves, and even some vehicles near the observatory.
