Bir Inder Singh Banbhaurisunam Udham Singh Wala, 6th December Punjab Water Supply and Sanitation Minister Hardeep Singh Mundian today dedicated new water supply projects worth around Rs 4.21 crore in three villages of the local assembly constituency to the villagers. Addressing the residents of those villages on this occasion, he said that Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has ordered to take all necessary steps to provide clean drinking water to the homes of the people of the state, following which water supply and sanitation The schemes of the department are being implemented successfully. Mr. Mundian said that Rs 160 crore has been requested from the Punjab government for the construction of new water supply schemes in 144 villages of the state, which is expected to be approved soon. He said that under this mission, 25.61 crore rupees have been approved for water supply schemes in 37 villages of district Sangrur in the last one year, with which 87 thousand 53 villagers have been supplied with pure potable water. He said that projects worth Rs 28.32 crore are under approval for constructing water supply schemes in 24 villages of Sangrur district. The cabinet minister while inaugurating the water supply schemes in Bishanpura Akalgarh, Tolewal and village Dhadrian with a cost of Rs 4.21 crore said that water tanks, tube wells, 29 km new pipeline and solar system have been installed on these schemes which will help 7218 villagers. The supply of pure potable water has been started uninterruptedly. On this occasion, Chief Engineer JJ Goyal, Superintending Engineer Manoj Malhotra, SDM Charanjot Singh Walia, Axion Water Supply and Sanitation Honey Gupta and other officials were also present.
