New Delhi, December 6
India today asked Pakistan to take strict action against Jaish-e-Mohammed (JEM) chief Masood Azhar. There was news that Azhar had recently addressed a rally in Bahawalpur. External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said that if the news is true, it exposes Pakistan’s ‘double standards’ in curbing terrorist activities. Jaiswal said, “We appeal that strict action be taken against him (Azhar) and he be brought to justice. It is being denied that he is not in Pakistan.” He said, “If the news is true, it exposes Pakistan’s double standards. Masood Azhar has been involved in cross-border terrorist attacks on India and we want strict action against him,” Jaiswal said in response to a question at the weekly press conference. -News-Patiala
