Taking lessons from the incidents in Eastern Ladakh, India and China held diplomatic talks today to review the situation on the Line of Actual Control. The two countries also confirmed compliance with the recent agreement to withdraw troops from Depsang and Damchok. Meanwhile, the leader of the Chinese delegation also met Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri. Talks were held in Delhi under the framework of executive arrangement for discussion and coordination on India-China border matters. Both the countries have also agreed for the next meeting of the special representatives. This was the first meeting after the withdrawal of troops in eastern Ladakh. The Indian Ministry of External Affairs said that both the parties have confirmed the return of the troops to their respective places under the recent agreement. He said that the lessons learned from the events of 2020 were discussed so that such incidents are not repeated. The Ministry of External Affairs said that the two sides also stressed the importance of regular dialogue at the diplomatic and military levels. -News-Patiala
