Special Task Force (STF) of BSF and Punjab Police achieved major success in a joint operation in village Dhalla Mallian under Ajnala area of Amritsar district adjacent to India-Pakistan border. This operation was carried out on the basis of special intelligence.

According to information received from BSF, the arrested smuggler is a resident of Khemkaran, district Tarn Taran. Drug money as well as weapons have been recovered from his possession. As soon as the intelligence was received, BSF and STF made a plan and raided Dhalla Mallian village.
In the joint operation, drug money worth Rs 5 lakh, weapons including a .30 caliber pistol (Chinese made), magazine and three live rounds, besides three mobile phones and a bullet bike were seized from the accused.

BSF and STF officials have termed this operation as a significant success. The arrest of the smuggler is likely to provide important information about the drug and arms smuggling network running in Punjab. Officials said that from the material recovered from the smuggler’s possession, it is clear that he was active in drug smuggling as well as supply of illegal weapons.
At present, the mobile phones recovered from the accused are being sent for forensic examination, so that important information can be obtained from them.

Officials said that the interrogation of the arrested smuggler is continuing. A detailed investigation is being conducted in this case to uncover other networks and contacts. This campaign is not only a big step against drug smuggling but will also play an important role in maintaining security and law and order in the state.
