Indian-origin nurse attacked with scissors in Britain, hospitalized in critical condition

New Delhi- An Indian-origin nurse was attacked with scissors in the emergency medical unit of the Royal Oldham Hospital in Greater Manchester, northwest Britain on Saturday. The attack took place when the nurse was on duty in the night shift. The attack was carried out during the night shift. Due to this, the nurse was seriously injured. The name of the nurse was said to be Achamma Cherian.

After the attack, 37-year-old Ruman Haq was arrested. Greater Manchester Police said at Manchester Magistrates’ Court that Haq was charged on Tuesday with attempted murder and possession of a knife, and will appear in Manchester next month. He was remanded in custody to appear at the Crown Court. “The victim, a 50-year-old woman, sustained serious injuries (in the attack),” a police statement said. He has been admitted to the hospital for treatment.
