Indian women’s team clean sweep by defeating West Indies, Deepti and Renuka’s excellent performance

The Indian women’s cricket team has achieved a 3-0 one-sided victory in the one-day series against the West Indies. After winning the first two matches, the team also won the third match. In front of the ball of Deepti Sharma and Renuka Thakur, the entire team of West Indies was limited to only 162 runs. While chasing the target, India also faced setbacks, but after losing 5 wickets in 28.2 overs, the team completed a hat-trick of victories and completed a clean sweep.

Wicketkeeper Shameen Campbell played an important role in taking the team to a respectable score by playing an innings of 46 runs.

The pair of Deepti and Renuka put the entire West Indies team on the backfoot. Both of them took all 10 wickets together. Deepti took 6 wickets for 31 runs in 10 overs while Renuka showed the way out to 4 batsmen with 29 runs in 9.5 overs.

Chasing a target of 163 runs against the West Indies, India did not get off to a good start but the last batsman saved the team’s honour. Smriti Mandhana and Harleen Deol, who showed strength in the first two matches, could not do much. Coming to the middle order, captain Harmanpreet Kaur, Jomima Rodrigues and Deepti Sharma handled the innings and led the team to the victory target.
