Shilpa Shetty Bastian Restaurant: Famous writer and socialite Shobha De has claimed that Shilpa Shetty’s Mumbai-based restaurant ‘Bastian’ reportedly has a turnover of Rs 2-3 crore every night. People come to this luxury restaurant in Mumbai in Lamborghini and spend lakhs of rupees in one night.
New Delhi. Shilpa Shetty and her husband Raj Kundra are embroiled in a fraud case, where they are accused of defrauding a Juhu-based businessman of Rs 60.48 crore. The case is going on in the court. Soon after being surrounded by this matter, Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty informed the fans that she closed the restaurant ‘Bastion’ located in Bandra, Mumbai due to financial crisis. This was surprising news, because it had become a favorite place not only for the common people but also for the special people. However, the second ‘Bastion’ is operational in Mumbai. Famous writer and socialite Shobha De has claimed that this restaurant earns a turnover of Rs 2 to 3 crore every night, where people spend lakhs of rupees in a single evening.
‘After hearing these figures, I thought it was a lie, then went to the restaurant myself’
According to Shobha De, ‘It is surprising to see the flow of money in Mumbai. The turnover of a restaurant is Rs 2-3 crore per night. It earns Rs 2 crore on less crowded nights and Rs 3 crore on weekends. I went there myself because I could not believe it after hearing these figures. When Barkha asked which restaurant, Shobha told, ‘It’s Bastion, the new one… 21,000 square feet, on the top floor. As soon as you go inside, you feel where have you come? 360 degree view of the city is available. You don’t even realize where you are.
1400 work in the restaurant
Shobha further told that 1400 people come to the restaurant in a night. He said- ‘There are two shifts, 700 people in each shift. In old Maharashtrian areas like Dadar, there is a waiting list on the road. People come in Lamborghini and Aston Martin. Who are these people? I don’t know anything. Referring to her personal visit she said, ‘I was surprised. There was not a single familiar face among the 700 diners. There were young people ordering bottles of expensive tequila at the tables. Every table was paying bills worth lakhs, but everyone was unaware.
Shilpa Shetty partnered with Ranjit Bindra in 2019
Shilpa Shetty had partnered with Ranjit Bindra, founder of ‘Bastion’ brand in 2019. Now she is the co-owner of several restaurants across India and holds 50% stake in the brand. While talking to Kunal Vijaykar, Shilpa herself admitted that she is one of the biggest restaurant owners of India.
Shilpa-Raj trapped in fraud case
However, Shilpa and her husband Raj Kundra are trapped in a fraud case these days. He is accused of defrauding a Juhu businessman of Rs 60.48 crore. The Bombay High Court recently rejected his travel request to expand his restaurant chain in America and other countries. The court said that first deposit Rs 60 crores and then ask for permission to travel.
