ISKCON priest Chinmoy Krishna Das arrested in Bangladesh, Yunus government files sedition case

Dhaka- Bangladesh police on Monday detained ISKCON priest and Hindu leader Chinmay Krishna Das at the Dhaka airport, while the Hindu group claimed that Chinmay Das had been arrested.

It is being told that action has been taken against Chinmoy Krishna Das in the case of treason. The interim government led by Muhammad Yunus did not want Chinmay Das to leave the country and that was the reason why the police arrested him on his arrival at the airport.

In late October, the Bangladesh government filed a sedition case against Chinmoy Krishna Das. In fact, a rally was held under his leadership in Chittagong, in which a large number of Hindus gathered. Because of this, the government of Muhammad Yunus was troubled.

In this rally, Chinmay has been accused of insulting the national flag of Bangladesh by trying to break the sovereignty and integrity of the country. Chinmay Das has always raised his voice about the atrocities and violence against Hindus in Bangladesh. He had also held a rally in support of Hindus a few days ago.

According to the police complaint filed against Chinmoy Krishna Das, the ISKCON group hoisted a religious flag over the national flag of Bangladesh when students were protesting against the government at the New Market intersection in Chittagong. It has been said in the complaint that hoisting the religious flag of ISKCON over the national flag of the country is considered to be tantamount to breaking the integrity of the country.
