It is worth mentioning that the number of Indian workers in Israel has increased from 10,000 thousand in the last one year after the war. These Indian workers are replacing Palestinian workers. After the Hamas attack on Israel on 7 October 2023, Indian workers have gradually started replacing Palestinian workers in Israel. The number of Indian workers working in Israel has increased drastically in the last one year. These workers are increasingly employed in Israel’s construction industry and have also grown in agriculture and other sectors.
The ambassador of Israel told the reality
During a special conversation with News-Patiala India, Israel’s ambassador Ruvin Azar has said that Israel’s goal is to increase the number of Indian workers to 50 thousand. He said that Indian workers working in Israel are paid at least three times more than in India and some get even more.
India and Israel reached an agreement regarding Indian workers in March 2023 before the Hamas war broke out. The number of Palestinian workers in Israel was drastically reduced after the start of the war and the agreement between India and Israel also came into effect after the war. As a result, 16 thousand Indians have moved from India to Israel in the construction industry in the last one year. There is a huge need for manpower in Israel in construction, agriculture and other sectors of the economy, and Indian workers are slowly filling the gap, but Israel still needs a large number of workers.
Yogi Adityanath also mentioned
Recently in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly, Yogi Adityanath mentioned Indians working in Israel. Yogi Adityanath had said that 5600 workers from UP have gone to Israel. Those who get a salary of one and a half lakh rupees while accommodation and food are free.
It is worth mentioning that under the agreement between India and Israel, many Indian workers are going to Israel and some are also at the level of private companies. In such a situation, it is clear that Indian workers are slowly contributing to meet the huge shortage of Palestinian workers in Israel and are sending home huge salaries in return.
