CM giving memorandum to farmer Tehsildar.
In Jagraon today farmers demonstrated against illegal mining taking place on the banks of Sutlej Canal. Jamhuri Kisan Sabha, Punjab CIT U and Punjab Kisan Sabha gathered in large numbers at Jagraon Jalandhar Road and Hi Tech Naka and blocked the road.

Farmers say that illegal mining is going on continuously in Sutlej Canal of Ludhiana and Jalandhar. After this, police officials came to meet the farmers and assured them of taking action against those doing illegal mining. After which the farmers ended the protest and opened the way.
The Tehsildar explained to the farmers during the dharna led by CITU leaders Comrade Amarnath Kum Kalan and Daljit Kumar Gora, Jamhuri Kisan Sabha’s Balraj Singh Kot Umra Baljit Singh Gorsian and Gurdeep Singh. During this, the farmers submitted a demand letter in the name of the Chief Minister to the Tehsildar. Farmers said that if action is not taken in 3 days then the agitation will be further intensified in the coming days.
