Today Punjab Vigilance Bureau has registered a case of taking bribe against Patwari in Jagraon. The Bureau said that this case has been registered against the accused on the complaint of Sukhwinder Singh, resident of village Leela, Ludhiana.

He said that the complainant has said in the complaint that his wife had sold the land to other persons, but did not register it in the name of the buyers. According to the complainant, Goods Patwari Vikas Soni asked for a bribe of Rs 8000 in exchange for releasing the copy of the registry, but the deal was finalized for Rs 5000.

After this, the accused Patwari took Rs 1500 and was demanding the remaining Rs 3500 as bribe. The investigating officer further said that during this investigation the allegations made in the complaint were found to be true. After this, a case has been registered against the accused Patwari under the Prevention of Corruption Act at Ludhiana Range Police Station of Vigilance Bureau. He said that efforts are on to arrest the accused.
