Married victim giving information about the case. Who was tortured by her in-laws.
A family along with an NGO created a ruckus in Kot Sadiq locality of Jalandhar. However, the police reached the spot and somehow pacified the matter. The family has alleged that their daughter is being harassed by her in-laws.

Victim Rajneesh Rani said- I was married in February last year. My in-laws started harassing me after 6 months of marriage. Rani said- They started demanding dowry from me to go abroad. When I became pregnant I started having a lot of problems. Rajneesh Raji said- She was married to a young man from Kapurthala. My in-laws used to harass me a lot regarding dowry.
Rajneesh Rani said- I was kept locked in the room. Alleged that when I became pregnant, I was told that we wanted a boy and not a girl. Then I was told that we will get our son married again. I have been living in my maternal home for the last five months.

ACP Barjinder Singh, who reached the crime scene, said – a complaint was lodged by the family in the women’s cell. Which is under investigation. The family had gathered here today regarding this. The police have talked to the family. Legal action will be taken after investigation. The case was initially being investigated by Division No. 7, but then the said case was sent to the Women’s Cell.
