Jasprit Bumrah equals Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja remains at number one – News-Patiala Punjabi

India Vs Australia Test Series 2024: Fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah equaled spinner Ravichandran Ashwin’s Indian record by increasing his rating to 904 in the International Cricket Council (ICC) bowler rankings. Bumrah took 9 for 94 in the third Test against Australia in Brisbane, which earned him 14 rating points. Bumrah is at the first place in the latest Test rankings of the ICC.

With this, he not only equaled Ashwin’s record but also strengthened his position at the top of the bowlers’ rankings. Bumrah will now have a chance to overtake Ashwin and set a new Indian record by performing well in the fourth Test against Australia starting on Thursday (December 26). Ashwin achieved this feat in December 2016. This off-spinner retired from international cricket recently.

Rabada and Hazlewood are on the list
After the Indian bowler, South Africa’s Kagiso Rabada (856) and Australia’s Josh Hazlewood (852) are second and third respectively. Australian batsman Travis Head, who performed brilliantly in the current series against India, has reached the fourth position in the Test ranking of batsmen. They have 825 rating points.
