Justice Manmohan sworn in: Justice Manmohan took oath as a judge of the Supreme Court


New Delhi, December 5

Chief Justice of India Sanjeev Khanna today administered oath to Chief Justice Manmohan of Delhi High Court as a judge of the Supreme Court. After Justice Manmohan took oath, the number of judges in the apex court has increased to 33. The sanctioned posts of judges in the Supreme Court are 34. Justice Manmohan (61) was administered the oath of office during the swearing-in ceremony held in the Supreme Court. The collegium of the Supreme Court had on November 28 recommended the promotion of Justice Manmohan to the apex court. Justice Manmohan was appointed as the apex court judge on December 3. Justice Manmohan was second in common all-India seniority of High Court judges and was the senior-most judge in the Delhi High Court. -News-Patiala
