Drug smuggler caught by Kapurthala police

SP (D) Sarabjit Rai said that during the campaign against drug smugglers in the district, ASI Labh Singh of Kapurthala CIA staff team detained a person riding in a car on the basis of suspicion during the blockade near Kharbuja Mandi. Upon search, 100 grams of heroin was recovered from him. The accused has been identified as Kulwinder Singh alias Kinder, resident of village Boot. An FIR was registered against the accused in Police Station City on 14th December and he was strictly interrogated and 400 grams more heroin was recovered at his instance.

SP D Sarabjit Rai also told that accused Kulwinder Singh has 4 cases registered against him under Excise Act and NDPS Act from 2014 to 2023. He is also acquitted in the Excise Act case registered in 2014. He runs a drug smuggling business under the guise of business of buying and selling old vehicles.
On the other hand, ASI Keval Singh of the team of Inspector Jarnail Singh, in-charge of CIA staff, during patrolling, caught another car-riding youth from village Bhagatpur. During whose search, 50 grams of heroin was recovered. The accused has been identified as Rahul, resident of village Mangaroda Kapurthala. An FIR has been registered against the accused in the police station. Both the accused are being interrogated regarding their network. SPD also informed that accused Kulwinder Singh came out of jail in the month of March.
