Rajya Sabha member Sant Balbir Singh Seechewal, after hearing the plight of the girls who returned from Iraq and Muscat, directed the police chiefs of Moga and Barnala districts to listen to the complaints of the victimized girls on priority basis. Sant Seechewal said that unless strict action is taken against rogue travel agents, the illegal business of human trafficking in Arab countries cannot be stopped.

The victim girl, a resident of Moga who returned from Oman, told that the girls are lured and brought there by an agent named Imran. Instead of sending them to work, they are subjected to severe torture there. She told that the agent beat her a lot and forcibly asked her to call two more girls. He told that the accused is running a big racket there. Every girl who is invited to Oman is treated like this. Similarly, she and another girl from her village were called there by a girl from her own village on the pretext of working in a beauty parlor. She herself was trapped there.

The victimized girls appealed that girls should not go to Arab countries. There the agents call girls on visitor visa and sell them there in a way and demand a huge amount in return for their return or force them to bring more girls from India. He said that many attempts are made there to trap girls into wrongdoings. There girls are beaten and their honor is always in danger.
