Rickshaw and car damaged in the accident
A speeding car hit an e-rickshaw on the Jalandhar-Amritsar National Highway in Kapurthala. Two women died in this accident, while a child and the e-rickshaw driver were injured. The injured have been admitted to a private hospital in Jalandhar. Subhanpur police station reached the spot

Investigating officer of Subhanpur police station, ASI Kulwinder Singh, said that the car driver has fled from the spot. An FIR has been registered against the car driver under sections of BNS. The deceased women have been identified as Neelam Kumari (30 years) wife of Kulwinder Singh and Seema Rani (27 years) wife of Malkit Singh, residents of Guru Ravidas Nagar, Jalandhar. Both the deceased women were sister-in-law and sister-in-law.

Condition of child and rickshaw driver critical
ASI Kulwinder Singh said that he had received information last night that a speeding Polo car hit the e-rickshaw going ahead between Hamira and Subhanpur. Due to which two women, an e-rickshaw driver and a child were badly injured. Then acting SHO Baljeet Singh reached the spot along with the police party. The injured were immediately taken to SGL Charitable Hospital located in village Mustafabad for treatment.
While the duty doctor declared Neelam Kumari dead, Seema, her 5-year-old son Navjot Singh and e-rickshaw driver Jatinder Singh were referred to Kapurthala Civil Hospital as their condition was critical. Where Seema died during treatment. From here, seeing the condition of 5 year old Navjot Singh and e-rickshaw driver Jatinder Singh as serious, the doctor referred them to a higher centre.

According to Malkit Singh, husband of the deceased woman Seema, his wife and sister-in-law had gone to meet relatives in Subhanpur in an e-rickshaw. From there he had gone to Kapurthala to attend a function when this accident happened on the way. In which both of them lost their lives. Based on the statement of Malkit Singh, Subhanpur police station has registered an FIR under various sections of BNS against the car driver Jagjit Singh alias Jagga, resident of village Bagadian Bhulath and taken the car into custody.
