Accused Sarabjit Singh in police custody.
Police have arrested a drug smuggler in Kapurthala. A Scorpio and 50 grams of heroin have been recovered from him. An FIR has been registered against the accused in Subhanpur police station under the NDPS Act. ASI Davinderpal posted at Subhanpur police station visited the village along with the police party.

The police team was checking the vehicles. Meanwhile, a Scorpio (PB-13-BF-4900) coming from Kapurthala side was seen and the police party signaled it to stop. The driver tried to escape the Scorpio, but in the meantime the Scorpio’s tire got punctured and it stopped. Then the Scorpio driver was controlled and searched and 50 grams of heroin was recovered from him.
The accused has been identified as Sarabjit Singh, resident of village Boot. ASI Davinderpal said that the accused is being interrogated. The same accused will be produced in the court and a demand for police remand will be made.
