Mining department and police team arrived to raid
In Kapurthala, the Mining Department along with Dhilwan Police conducted raids to stop illegal mining in Mand Rampur and Mand Dhilwan. At many places at that place, sand was extracted by digging 5 to 15 feet pits. However, no machinery and no person was found at the said place.

In the complaint given to the police, JE cum Mining Inspector of Mining Department, Shubham Kumar told that he was repeatedly receiving complaints of illegal mining in Mand Rampur and Mand Dhilwan. After which, on the instructions of higher officials, spot inspection of the said places was done along with Dhilwan police. Where no machinery was found nor was any person present there.
But sand has been extracted by digging 5 to 15 feet pits at various places. A path has also been made there for the vehicles to pass and there are tire marks of the machinery. Which clearly shows that illegal extraction of sand has taken place here.
It is also known that no approval has been issued for the said place. Therefore, based on the complaint of the department’s JE Shubham Kumar, the police have registered a case against unknown accused under various sections for illegal mining.
