The cleaning workers reached the police station demanding justice and even threatened to stop the cleaning work and stage a protest. The incident took place in Samrala. City Council’s cleaning worker Kamaljit Singh told that he had gone to Machhiwada Road to collect garbage.
The market owner and some shopkeepers started abusing him for parking the garbage cart there. He was assaulted. After this, when Safai Sevak Employees Union President Surinder Kumar was called, the shopkeepers also abused him. After this, they left the garbage cart in the market and went straight to the police station.
Shopkeepers disrupted government work Union President Surinder Kumar said that the market owners and shopkeepers have obstructed the government work. Their cleaning workers have been abused. They will not tolerate this at any cost. A complaint has been lodged with Samrala police.
On the other hand, market owner Rajpal Singh, who reached the police station, said that the cleaning workers were having a fight with the shopkeeper, so he went to the spot to stop the fight.
