Dead body of deceased farmer reached home
The Punjab government assured the family of farmer Ranjodh Singh of Khanna’s village Ratanhedi, who committed suicide by swallowing sulfas on December 14 at Shambhu border, and assured him of Rs 5 lakh and a government job to the farmer’s son. After which today the last rites of the farmer will be performed in Ratnahedi village.

Farmers and youth should not take such steps
Sher-e-Punjab Kisan Union President Gurinder Singh Bhangu said that Ranjodh Singh used to serve in the langar being run in the front at Shambhu border. He had passion for farming. There was anger over the anti-farmer policies of the governments.
Recently, after seeing the condition of farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal, he could not bear it and Ranjodh Singh committed suicide. But he appeals to everyone, including the youth, not to take such steps, but to contribute to the front with courage and achieve victory.
On the other hand, Kamaldeep Singh, cousin of deceased Ranjodh Singh, said that the Punjab government has assured the farmer unions of compensation and government jobs, after which the last rites were performed.
