Lehragaga (Ramesh Bhardwaj): A major accident was averted near the old power house on Khai Road here when due to the promptness of the people, the terrible fire on the electric wires was brought under control in time. According to the information, while returning to the village from the main road, the electricity wires passing over the meter box caught fire, the flames of which were visible up to 30 feet high. On the spot, the fire was brought under control by people immediately by pouring water on it. Meanwhile, the electricity supply was cut off by the employees. The people of the area have demanded that the loose wires should be tightened and the splices should be replaced so that no such incident takes place in the future. City SDO of PowerCom said that they are investigating the fire incident. He said that the possibility of sparking is very less due to winter but it can also be someone’s mischief. A departmental investigation is being conducted in this regard.
