The IMD had on Monday issued an ‘orange alert’ in Delhi due to dense fog and warned that the same conditions may persist in remote areas for the whole week. The Meteorological Department had urged all passengers to keep in touch with airlines and railways to know about any possible delay in travel. More than 100 flights were delayed at the Delhi airport on Wednesday morning due to dense fog. In this regard, officials said that the main reason for this delay is low visibility. While landings and takeoffs at the airport continue, non-CAT III-compliant flights may be affected, Delhi airport operator DIAL said. However, there was no information about the cancellation of flights. The CAT-III facility allows flight operations in conditions such as low visibility. More than 100 flights were delayed on Wednesday, according to information available on flightradar24.com. Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) said in a post on X at 7.35 am that passengers are requested to contact the concerned airline for updated flight information. About 1,300 flights operate daily from the Indira Gandhi International Airport in the national capital.

According to the Central Pollution Control Board, Lodhi Garden recorded AQI of 287, IIMT 291, Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium 368, Mandir Marg 378, Mundaka 372, and NS IT Dwarka 242. 255 in Najafgarh, 377 in Narela, 394 in Nehru Nagar, and 382 in North Campus, DU. Okhla Phase-II recorded an AQI of 380, while Padparganj recorded 390 and Pusa recorded 355. According to the data recorded, Vivek Vihar recorded the highest AQI of 414, indicating severe pollution levels.
