Today is a very special day for former Indian cricket team explosive batsman Krishnamachari Srikanth. He was born on this day i.e. 21 December in Chennai. Srikanth has played a good innings for Team India. He made his debut for Team India at the age of 21. Then he also held a big post like Chief Selector.
Srikanth made his debut at the age of 21 in November 1981 against England in Ahmedabad. Played his first ODI match for the Indian team. In that match he faced 10 balls. But they got out for 0. Two days later he played his first Test in Bombay. There he scored 0 runs in the first innings and 13 runs in the second innings. He scored two Test centuries and four ODI centuries in his career.
Srikanth’s Career
Krishnamachari Srikanth was also a part of Team India during the 1983 World Cup. Chris Srikkanth was the highest run-scorer at Lord’s against the West Indies in the 1983 World Cup final. Opening the innings, he scored 38 runs off 57 balls with the help of 7 fours and a six. Which later proved to be crucial for Team India. Kant played a total of 43 Tests and 146 ODIs for India in his career, during which he scored 2062 and 4092 runs with the bat respectively.

On 27 September 2008, he was appointed as the chief selector of the Indian cricket team and held the position until 2011. Then on 20 December 2012, the Sunrisers Hyderabad franchise made him their brand ambassador in the IPL. In the year 2008, he was made the brand ambassador of the Chennai Super Kings franchise for the Indian Premier League (IPL).
