Maharashtra: Violence in Parbhani against breaking the constitution

Violent protests took place for the second day today against the breaking of the stone replica of the Indian Constitution established in the city of Parbhani in Maharashtra, after which the administration has imposed ban orders.

Officials said that during the bandh call given by the Ambedkar activists, the mob set fire and ransacked the District Collector’s office. A senior official said that prohibitory orders have been implemented in the city.

Under this, gathering of more than five persons in public places will be prohibited and a company of CRPF has been called to help maintain law and order situation.

Acting SP Yashwant Kale said, ‘Pipes were burnt outside a shop around one o’clock today. When the crowd turned violent, the police fired tear gas shells and dispersed them.’ Police IG Shahji Umap said that hundreds of protestors, including women, gathered outside the collector’s office and entered his office and vandalized it. -News-Patiala
