Ban on mobile internet in nine districts extended till Dec 9: The Manipur government has extended the ban on mobile internet services in nine districts till December 9. The Home Department issued an order in this regard and said that mobile internet and mobile data services will remain suspended in these areas till 5.15 pm on December 9. In his order, the Home Commissioner said that in view of the current law and order situation in the state, there are still fears that some anti-social elements may use social media to circulate images and hate speech and incite people. The K state government has temporarily suspended internet services. This ban will be applicable in nine districts. These districts include Imphal West, Imphal East, Bishnupur, Thobal, Kakching, Kangpokpi, Churachandpur, Jiribam and Ferzaul. It must also be mentioned that on November 15 and 16, after the bodies of three missing children and three women were recovered in Jiribam district, violence erupted and the situation worsened.
