The ban on mobile internet services in nine districts here was lifted today after more than three weeks. Officials said that the government, however, has asked all internet users to refrain from any activity that could rekindle tension in the state. Earlier, the Home Department issued an order saying that mobile internet and mobile data services will remain suspended in these areas till 5.15 pm on December 9. The ban was imposed in nine districts of Imphal West, Imphal East, Bishnupur, Thobal, Kakching, Kangpokpi, Churachandpur, Jiribam and Ferzaul. It must also be mentioned that on November 15 and 16, after the bodies of three missing children and three women were recovered in Jiribam district, violence erupted and the situation worsened.
