There is big news for Microsoft users. The Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-in) has issued a warning, stating that Microsoft products have high risk safety flaws. The warning by the government is placed in the “High Severity” category. According to CERT-in, these security flaws can affect many important products of Microsoft.
These products can be affected
Products affected include Windows, Microsoft Office, SQL Server, Azure Services, Microsoft Edge, Xbox Gaming Services, Microsoft 365 Apps, Office Online server and Autopadate for Mac.
Government gave this advice
Taking advantage of these flaws, you can gain control of cyber attacker system, steal sensitive information, get rights like admins, make fake attacks, run dangerous codes and even stalled the system. Given this situation, CERT-in has advised all users and IT administrators to update their system without delay.
Such warning also came for WhatsApp
Last week, CERT-in issued such warning for WhatsApp users. It said that this flaw has come due to lack of handling of synchronized messages in WhatsApp’s linked devices. Taking advantage of this, remote attackers can send malaysus request to a device. With this, the user will reach the attacker without knowing his private chats and confidential information. Its special effect will be on the older version from the iOS 2.25.21.73 of WhatsApp, the older version from 2.25.21.78 of Whatsapp Business and 2.25.21.78 of Whatsapp for Mac will be on the older version. These versions of WhatsApp are the highest risk of hacking. It was advisable to update them immediately by the agency.
