Modi could not understand that the constitution of the country is not the constitution of the Union: Priyanka

New Delhi, December 13

Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi in her first debate in Parliament today claimed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi did not say anything about the incidents of violence in Sambhal and Manipur and that he could not understand that the Constitution is not the ‘law of the Union’.

Participating in the debate on the Constitution in the Lok Sabha, Priyanka said that the Constitution is a shield to protect justice, unity and freedom of expression, but the BJP-led government has tried everything possible to destroy it in the last 10 years.

The newly elected Member of Parliament from Wayanad said, “The Prime Minister bows to the Constitution but when there is a demand for justice from Sambhal, Hathras and Manipur, he does not even flinch.”

He said that it seems that Prime Minister Modi has not yet understood that this is the ‘Constitution of India’ and not the ‘Constitution of the Union.’ He said that the government is working to weaken the reservation policy through lateral entry and privatization. Priyanka said, “If such results had not come in the Lok Sabha elections, the government would have started the work of changing the constitution.” -News-Patiala
