mohammed yunus bgb opposing fencing on india bangladesh border tension for indian residents

India-Bangladesh Border : Every day a new dispute is increasing between India and Bangladesh. Now tension has arisen between the two countries regarding the installation of barbed fencing on the international border. Indian Border Security Force (BSF) is installing barbed fencing on the international border, a large part of which has been completed.

At the same time, now only a few parts of the fencing are left in which the interim government of Mohammad Yunus has started protesting. Recently, Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), which looks after the border security of Bangladesh, has tried to obstruct the fencing being done by India. Due to this nefarious attempt of Bangladesh, people near the border are facing the fear of becoming homeless.

Indians are not able to build their own homes

Indian people living near the international border are not able to build their houses after Bangladesh created obstruction in border fencing. Many Indians are facing this problem in Jalpaiguri district of West Bengal. At the same time, there are some people who have been given financial assistance by the government to build a permanent house, but due to the dispute in Bangladesh, their dream of building a house seems to be shattered.

Mafijul, who lives near the border, told about the problem

One Mafijul is also included among such people. Mafijul told ‘The Telegraph’ that the BSF had stopped him from bringing home construction materials and had asked him to wait for some time. Mafijul said, “My house is near the fence. But BGB of Bangladesh is currently creating trouble in the fencing. Now I am scared whether I will be able to build my house.” He further said, “We fear that even if BFF gives us permission to build the house, BGB may also ask us to remove the house.

BGB Protesting against India’s fencing

However, the fencing on the border by India is being done only on the basis of agreement between the parties of the countries. But BGB has opposed this several times for some time now. The fencing work started in April 2024, which was stopped due to monsoon in July. Meanwhile, Sheikh Hasina’s government fell and Mohammad Yunus came to power. Then when work started again in November, BGB also started protesting.
