Nargis was born as Fatima Rashid as Jaddanbai’s daughter, who was one of the forearm of Indian film music. Jaddanbani was a famous musician in the Indian film industry and one of the most tawes of her time. In fact, Jaddanbai’s mother and Nani’s grandmother Dalipabai was also a famous prostitute in the early 20th century. Nargis’s father Mohanchand Uttamchand Tyagi was a Hindu businessman who converted to Islam to marry Jaddanbai and adopted Abdul Rashid’s name. This was Jaddanbai’s third marriage. Born in 1929, Nargis started her career with her mother’s film, at the age of 6 and worked as a child artist in many other films till the age of 12.

Nargis’ career and superstardom as the lead actress at the age of 14, Nargis jumped as the lead artist in Mehboob Khan’s film Fatdir, which was a hit. Before seeing her first box office failure in the mid -1940s, some of her next films were moderately successful. By 1949–51, he acted in three blockbuster films like Andaz, Barsaat and Awara, all of which broke the record of the highest-grossing Indian films, with Raj Kapoor with him. At that time Nargis was now the number one heroine in the country. In 1957, she strengthened her position with Mother India, which was the highest -grossing Indian film of the time. It was the first highest -grossing film directed by a woman in the history of Indian cinema.
Why did Nargis leave at the age of 29
Acting in 1958, Nargis married her mother India co-star Sunil Dutt and left her career to live with her family. In 1967, Satyen Bose persuaded him to return to acting for one last time in the experimental and bold drama night and day, for which he received his only national award. In the year 1980, Nargis was nominated to the Rajya Sabha, but in the first year of his tenure he came to know of cancer. In 1981, at the age of 51, Nargis breathed his last. According to reports, she was planning to return.
