New Delhi. Comedian and Bigg Boss 17 Winner Munawar Farooqui expressed disappointment over the recent orders of the Meerut Police, in which Muslims were warned against offering prayers on the side of the streets on Eid. The comedian questioned whether the same rule will be implemented for all other festivals in the country.
Meerut police issued a circular on Friday saying that those who violate the rules may have to face legal action including cancellation of passports and driving licenses. This instruction has been released on March 28 for the last Friday Namaz and Eid-ul-Fitr of Ramadan.
Munawwar surrounds Meerut police, raised questions
Munawwar shared this news on his Instagram handle and wrote- ‘This for 30 minutes of prayers? Will there be no festival on the streets of India now? ‘ Neettex supported Munawar and criticized the Meerut Police for such instructions.

Munawar is hurting religious sentiments through ‘Hafta Recovery’!
A few days ago, Munawwar was accused of hurting religious sentiments through his show ‘Hafta Recovery’. The show is a territory (satirical) news room comedy, which gives an entertaining look on the prevailing political and cultural events. On social media, some people accused him of promoting pornography and hurting religious sentiments by using dirty language in the show and also called for a boycott. In 2021, Munawwar was arrested through his Stand-up Act for hurting religious sentiments. He was granted bail after spending more than a month in jail.
Umrah did a week ago
Let me tell you that a week ago, Munawar reached Mecca and he performed Umrah. Sharing the pictures, he wrote, ‘Mecca, the most beautiful place in the world. Allah calls everyone here, I prayed for all of you, you also remember me in your prayers’. During this time his wife was Zajebin Kotwala with him, both of them secretly married in the year 2024. This is the second marriage of both. From the first marriage, both of them have one child, who are with the couple.
