Today is the second day of nomination for the municipal elections to be held in Punjab on December 21. According to the dates released by the Punjab Election Commission, nominations are to be filed till December 12. Congress has made its first announcement for the municipal elections to be held in 85 wards of the city.

After the release of the schedule, District Election Officer cum DC has handed over the ward wise responsibility to the RO to collect the nomination forms in Amritsar. Elections are to be held for Municipal Corporation Amritsar, Nagar Panchayat Rajasansi and Baba Bakala. Whereas by-elections are to be held for Ward 4 of Municipal Council Majitha, Ward No. 5 and 7 of Nagar Panchayat Ajnala and Ward No. 13 of Nagar Panchayat Raiya.
As per the released schedule, voting will be held on December 21 and the results will also be declared on the same day. Nominations will be taken from 9 to 12 December from 11 am to 3 pm.
