In Majhi, a village near here, NIA raided the house of Lakhvir Singh, who is working in the Indian Army, and searched the house this morning, but nothing objectionable was found during this.
According to the information received, the NIA team with the help of Bhawanigarh police raided the house of army jawan Lakhvir Singh at around 6.30 am. For about two to two and a half hours, the house of the said jawan was searched and the family members were interrogated.
On talking to the family members, the brother of the said jawan said that the police officers made some inquiries from him and the house was also searched. Meanwhile, the police did not find anything objectionable from his house, nor did the police seize any mobile or other items from his house.
He said that his brother is posted in the Indian Army and the SIM card of a mobile phone in the name of his brother is with his sister-in-law i.e. the wife of an army jawan. He said that when his sister-in-law had gone to her parental village, her brother-in-law’s house was raided after she was talking to someone on her phone.
In this regard, DSP Bhawanigarh Rahul Kaushal said that a raid was conducted by NIA in village Majhi today, but he has no information about the reasons behind this. He said that they had provided only police force for security to the NIA team.
